Looks like I'll be making some phone calls...
spartadog: Tomorrow morning, 9 representatives are meeting to discuss a law banning 9 more snakes, including Boa constrictor imperator, Boa constrictor constrictor, Boa constrictor longicauda, and Boa constrictor occidentalis. I have a B. c. imperator and I plan on focusing my breeding project around them in the future. Some reasons this CANNOT be allowed to pass, so you have no excuse not to...

Frozen feeder rodents tip.
As you may have noticed, the frozen rodents (generally branded “Arctic Mice”) sold at stores like Petsmart/Petco tend to be overpriced, badly packed/preserved, and lacking a lot of nutrients! mollymbaaby asked: Do you think it's uncomfortable for snakes if you pick them up right after they eat? I'd imagine it is, but my corn snake doesn't seem to mind it too much.

Snake housing: My alternative to fish tanks.
sadness-of-sophistication: If you own a snake, you’ve probably heard of or experimented with the popular practice of keeping snakes in plastic tubs. Breeders almost always use tubs, because they are cheaper, more space-efficient, minimize cleaning time, and actually provide better temperature and humidity control. Most snake owners keep their snakes in fish tanks or glass terrariums, which is...

To clear up a few things about the recent snake...
Snakes sometimes require baths because it helps them shed and poop healthily. Some snakes will actually voluntarily soak in water for long periods of time, although this doesn’t appear to be one of them. ;) Captive blood pythons are not life-endangering pets. Although they have more attitude than most pet snakes and can deal a hefty bite, they are not actually capable of lethal damage....
